Bubblegum Bass Thread
Edit: I've decided we may as well make this the official "Bubblegum Bass" thread, since it's not merely excluded to the PC Music label.
So PC Music are a relatively new label. The majority of their artists make music described as "bubblegum bass", which is essentially polished pop songs, that are kind of sped up and squeaky. An over-simplification I suppose, but some of the tracks just don't follow convention, so it's hard to describe. Great. More electric pop obsessed with "bass".
(1990's version) Great, more post grunge light-rock. (1980's version) Great, more hair metal and over dramatic synth-pop. (1970's version) Great, more disco and funk rock. (1960's version) Great, more cover bands in matching outfits. (1950's version) Great, more white guys playing R & B/Boogie Woogie. (1940's version) Great, more swing, swing, and swing. (1700's version) Great, more classical compositions. (500's version) Great, more bards singing about maidens. (Pre-Historic version) Great, Ug is banging his rocks again. |
Thanks for that great post.

Honestly can't get over how good the new Charli XCX EP is. By far the best Bubblegum Bass release I've heard.
