ace of base
swedish super export of the 90s, though hardly the new abba. started out very dancey with techno thumping beats, then saw the sign and moved on to some more lilting, cod reggae pop. but never quite let go of the thumping beats, they appear on an album as late as 95, the bridge. in a way i wish they had just stuck to their new sound and abandoned that thumping, it's a musical dead end and their shot at immortality was over. but you can get a nice concentrate in the comp, though some deep cuts might be worth seeking the original albums for, penny albums they are, so money should not be an issue. conclusion: there will never be another abba, and even eric gadd made much better music. ace of base - hardly ace!

Everybody has that one album of theirs as does every thrift store in the world. A fad band that took our money and moved on to obscurity except in your cd collection and thrift store bind..........................For the record I got hooked just like everybody else with their non-offensive sound.....(lol)

the sort of band i'd never pay full price for, but 50 pence won't break me
these sort of albums it's more a question of do i have enough space for them inoffensive, but pleasant enough maybe there's a cull on the horizon, who knows what tomorrow will bring? |
