Default Lorde

Lorde is the stage name of Ella Maria Lani Yelich-O'Connor, and she is a 16 year old (almost 17 I think) singer from New Zealand. I think she is relatively new on the scene in North America - I only heard her song "Royals" for the first time on the radio last week. I love the song and have been listening to some other songs from her!

She has an excellent voice and she is sort of like Adele and Pink mixed together, in my opinion.

Songs I am loving right now:

Royals

Tennis Court

Million Dollar Bills

What do you guys think?

She's been huge all summer. If you are just noticing her you are a bit late to the party.

She is the first female to top the alternative charts since Alanis Morissette some 18 years ago.

I personally love her album and find myself constantly going back to it from time to time to hear certain songs. I'm not a big fan of Royals too much but Tennis Court was the first song of hers that I fell in love with.

If you are in plug with me you'll hear me play Team often. One of my faves but I also like Buzzcut Season and Glory and Gore.

I think Tennis Court is the best song of Lorde,
although Royals is very popular even here in Europe.
She's got a very unique voice, I'm excited how she'll develop.

I really want to like her! I've been listening today at work but I just don't yet. I'm gonna play the songs a few more times though to see if they grow on me.

I just cannot get into her. I'll listen to the album one more time, but for now, it does nothing for me.

I can't stand her. I think she is whiney. The song itself is okay but her vocals are terrible.

I think my pants got tighter. Then I saw her age and my pants loosened up promptly.

I went to see her last month and she was really good ........ it's easy to forget how young she is. As well as her own songs she did a very good cover of Kanye West's "Hold My Liquor".
