I'd agree that it's a great source of inspiration, but it goes a little deeper than that. Madonna may well be the source of all of Gaga's inspirations (besides Queen and others) and she doesn't mind nodding to them, but it's not really a ripoff as much as homage, in my opinion. There's a bigger picture she's painting with these inspirations.

This is a silly comparison when people are comparing Madonna's entire body of work against three albums from Gaga with the third one not even released yet.

I totally agree. Madonna's been round for what, 25-30 years? How can Gaga compete with that when she's only been around for 5-6.

Cher has a point. I feel like I have brought up a similar point in another thread but I also get sick of people looking for younger versions of people from the past and this crosses over into actors as well.

Madonna was something of a goddess when I was growing up in the early 80s, all the girls in school used to dress up and do their hair like her's and I have to admit I liked her music back then too. So I'm gonna have to say Madonna. The thing is I've only heard maybe 3 Lady Goo Goo songs so I can't make a fair comparison. But I will say I didn't like the few tracks I heard. They seemed lacking in musicality to me.
