They're not the same or anything, I think it's the progression...

I'm not well versed in K Pop, but given that I liked that song, are there any other K Pop artists/songs you'd recommend to a newcomer?

Ok, For me I'd place Red Velvet at the top followed by Loona, Dream Catcher, Gfriend/Viviz, WJSN (Cosmic Girls), (G)-IDLE, Aespa, Itzy, Everglow and GWSN (Girls in the Park).
I could go on.

Hey thanks!! I'll check 'em out.

You're from Wales, right? How'd you get into K Pop anyway? Assuming you are from Wales, you wouldn't happen to be a Manic Street Preachers fan, would you?

]I'm a big LOONA fan, I like the ones suggested also, plus some really good independents.

never heard of someone starting on the LOONA path and not getting hooked, they have a huge and varied catalog already.

this one reminds me of 90s TLC

I was on holiday and happened to be in a department store, I noticed a MV on one of the store's TVs. I asked the assistant who they are he just said that they are Korean.
A year later I was asked by someone if I had heard of the Korean guy who had made a MV in which he is doing a funny dance. They told me that this guy was becoming really popular. I had not seen the MV or heard the song and so I was dismissive of this person's recommendation. But they insisted that I really should see it. So when I got home I searched YT and found it. After watching it (Gangnam
Style), I noticed the thumbnails of MVs from a group called Girls' Generation and recognised one of their MVs (Genie, Japanese version) from the previous year when I was in the department store. After watching Girls Generation I clicked on other groups like Fx and that's how I got into Kpop.

Yes I'm from Wales. I'm not a Maniac Street Preachers fan.

Back to K-Pop we go then. I'll give whoever the creative force behind certain bands is credit though: some half-decent ideas. This is the third of three EPs by this boyband, all following it would appear a theme of flight. Interesting, though I don't doubt the music will be as interesting as an in-flight magazine. Let's get it over with, then. Yeah, not much to say. It is funny how they try to use a synthy version of the main guitar riff off “Satisfaction” on “Go Higher”. Ah, bless! They think they're rockers! Sigh. One of these days I'll come across a K-Pop album that's different. That time has not yet come.

Check out more from this artist? No

Album title: Love and Evil
Artist: Loona
Genre: K-Pop
Nationality: Korean
Release date: March 13
Position in Discography: Debut
Fear Factor: High

Familiar with the genre or subgenre? Getting there...
Average RYM Score: N/A
Well that's different anyway. From a boring boyband to a boring girlband, but their album opens with a really nice symphonic piano piece. Yeah, the girls always seem to put more effort in when it comes to K-Pop. Not that it's great, by any means, but it's better than Got7, not that that would be hard.

Check out more from this artist? No
Check out more from this genre or subgenre? I'm sure there's plenty more waiting in the wings
