I think if she wasn't such a big star and just a random chick who came out with "Ultraviolence" I highly doubt people would be going round calling the album trash. It's far from it. And even if you dislike her or think her music is whatever, I can't fathom how anyone would hate it.
She has some good lines that are vivid and draw imagery interspersed with cheese; but the cheese somehow still draws imagery: Blue Jeans is a stellar example of this mixture:

"Blue jeans, white shirt
Walked into the room you know you made my eyes burn
It was like, James Dean, for sure
You're so fresh to death and sick as ca-cancer
You were sorta punk rock, I grew up on hip hop
But you fit me better than my favourite sweater, and I know
That love is mean, and love hurts
But I still remember that day we met in December, oh baby!"

She has a wonderful voice that carries the lines very well and kind of fits the style. I can see how people see it as chav art, but it's still beuatiful chav art.
