pop pipz!
hey! a friend of mine said that rock music is of more value and quality when it comes to lyrics, how would you react to this?
for me there are some pop songs out there that are great but most pops songs and artists are crap nowadays, e.g. justin beiber. |

I've heard plenty of good pop songs in the past few years.
Ironically it's about a decade since I last heard a decent rock band.

Though this world's essentially an absurd place to be living in
It doesn't call for total withdrawal I've been told it's a fact of life Men have to kill one another Well I say there are still things worth fighting for La Resistance! Though this world's essentially an absurd place to be living in It doesn't call for (bubble withdrawal) It said human existence is pointless As acts of rebellious solidarity Can bring sense in this world La Resistance! Yeah, pop lyrics are so banal.

Sweet Lucy was a dancer But none of us would chance her Because she was a Samurai She made electric shadows Beyond our fingertips And none of us could reach that high She came on like a teaser I had to touch and please her Enjoy a little paradise The log was in my pocket When Lucy met the Rockett And she never knew the reason why I can't deny it With that smile on her face It's not the kill It's the thrill of the chase Feel it coming It's knocking at the door You know it's no good running It's not against the law The point of no return And now you know the score And now you're learning What's knockin' at your back door Sweet Nancy was so fancy To get into her pantry Had to be the aristocracy The members that she toyed with At her city club Were something in diplomacy So we put her on the hit list Of a common cunning linguist A master of many tongues And now she eases gently From her Austin to her Bentley Suddenly she feels so young

Don't worry, Just listen to real artists not phony ones (ie Lady Gaga wannabes, T-Pain copycats, and others phonies). I am doing that right now. I am listening to Nas and Young Jeezy.

This thread pains me.
Please listen to this rap song. A song that has meaning, waaaay more than many (or even most) rock songs I have heard. And this is really just the beginning, there are better examples, this was just the first to come into my head.
