Default Crowded House

What are your thoughts on this New Zealand/Australian pop rock band, active from 1985-1996 and 2006-Present?

Here is some info> Crowded House - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

And some of their better known hits...

We had to sing some of their songs at school, as well as songs from the Finn brothers prior band, Split Enz.

Good band, but kind of boring after a while. Not passionate music.

I always liked Don't Dream Its Over. Great band, they were very popular here in the states back in the 80s.

Exactly what is considered passionate music in this particular genre. Crowded House resonates a musical vibe that resembles The Cult, for me personally anyway (although The Cult being the better Band). I'm not disputing your statement or personal preference, just asking?

Compare with Midnight Oil or even REM. Today's version of Crowded House might be the Goo Goo Dolls, but the latter isn't as mellow.

Maybe feeling or involving are better words than passionate, sometimes I miss some of that though they are certainly very professional.

That is really good insight and description wisdom. Midnight Oil and REMs music definitely contains more substance. I actually like Crowded House better than Midnight Oil, but they are a good band. Tears For Fears was always a favorite band of mine, with a similar Alternative style. The Cure would be a possible example of a more passionate sounding band. Thats what I like about The Cult. Their music is very similar to these bands concerning style, but Ian Astbury's vocals are much more "Intense" which for me personally (provides a better Adrenaline Rush).

I always personally thought the band "Live" was a very professional band, especially (playing) LIVE. Are you familiar with they're music Starrynight? They didn't have a lot of success when compared with longevity and success most other Alternative Rock bands in the 90s. But I always thought that they were very talented. Especially as a Live band.

I hold an unpopular opinion, that the band "U2" is one of the "Core" Alternative Rock bands of this particular style.

Yes I've heard of Live, I like an album they did towards the end of the 90s (much more so than the more famous one earlier). I'm not really a big fan of U2, though I've always liked Pride (In the Name of Love).
