Here's an interesting Huffington Post article about this song. This part in particular caught my attention:

What was the idea behind styling them all like anime characters? If anyone's actually going to be interested in them I doubt they'd even know what an anime is.

The frontman for the group that likes to make parody videos of boy bands usually makes parodies of K-pop and J-pop groups so that's the reason
