If being "among the greatest" means "in the top 50,000,000 pop artists ever!!!", than I agree with that all the way.

Yup.

Beebs really only writes harmless nonsense, completely beyond me why there's so much hatred for him.
Warrant only wrote nonsense too, but there's no international wave of hatred for them. I don't see the reason to be honest.

The hatred is for the fans, and the phenomena, not for the artist. I don't remember Aaron Carter having this kind of immense, prolonged backlash when he was doing the same thing. He was also not the same kind of pop force for young girls. It's the same thing with Twilight.

That's the problem, I suppose. There are horrible banner ads found on many websites which ask things like "could you be Justin's dream girl? Find out here!" It looks to me like this is exactly the sort of thing that will harangue girls into changing their personalities in order to impress him, which of course is awful.

I don't even dislike Beebs! I think him and LMFAO are both perfectly fine pop artists. I don't mind the fact that their stuff seems a little inane, nonsensical and sometimes really cheesy, I think they are qualities we should not completely deride. We don't need to take our music deeply serious all the time.
Hence I don't mind them.

My problem with Bieber is that I frankly find it immensely creepy that people who aren't preadolescents listen to him. I also find his music and videos embarrassing, not to say pathetic, but perhaps that's an even less defensable point.

Eh. I'll be honest: when you watch his videos, you can't help getting the feeling that he's not a real person.

I just felt like sticking up for the loser for a change.

I don't listen to him!

That's because it's not 1990 right now.
