Just because one person needs psychiatric help because he couldn't handle the fame that doesn't mean that everyone handles fame in the same way and WILL automatically need it.

The whole death threats thing is moot because it's just internet tough guys talking out of their ass and they won't ever do anything about it. Yes, she might feel bad/worried for a little bit but when she realizes that the internet has ALWAYS been like this then she'll get over it.

I don't condone death threats over the internet but it's not as big of a deal like you are making it out to be.
The only point I made about her celebrity in comparisons to the ones Ben Butler mentioned, were that they knew what they were in for by putting themselves in the spotlight, whereas Rebecca Black didnt (put herself there). I'm not arguing that she wont also have to deal with fame, and it may be semantics, but its still relevant that she doesnt have the same people behind her as these others so doesnt have the wealth of experience dealing with the fame.

I also said the comparison with Star Wars kid and his psychiatric issues were a possibility, not a definite. There is no way to gauge now how she will be affected long term by this, but as I said, its possible that it will affect her deeper than we realise right now.

Loads of teenage girls want to be pop stars, If you had a daughter really into pop music and if you can afford to have someone write them a song and make them a music video as a gift or a special treat why wouldn't you?

It's no more exploitive than me as a child watching an England football match & wanting an England kit to wear while I played football or be taken to a match. Or me deciding I want to go on holiday somewhere & someone deciding to book it for me.

This is all harmless guff.
You wearing an England kit because you want to be like the players is one thing, but if your parents paid way over the top price after being told that they could buy this super magic kit that'd make you the next Maradona, and they did, then they have been exploited.

Having said that, you're probably right. If I could afford something that my kids wanted, I'd almost certainly pay for it (within reason). But I'm still of the mindset that ARK are exploiting the dreams of young people to make a quick buck.

It was her decision to sing the song, she released it, so she should take the responsibility for her actions. There is no way it would have been released without her permission. These death threats are coming from keyboard warriors hiding behind a pseudonym on the internet, they do not mean them.

They are probably small, scared kids who would do nothing of the sort in real life. The whole thing has been a massive reaction by the media and a PR stunt. Sorry it was not a good post from Evil Chuck!
lol, so now you're telling people which posts are good? I assume yours were all good posts, right? Full of facts and research, post of the year material, yeah? Is it only posts that disagree with your view that are bad posts? How can I make my input onto the forum better?

Please, help me here O Grand Master

Ok, we all agree that the song is terrible...so can everybody stop with the horrible death-threats on her YouTube video? We can stop stabbing her with our bloodstained keyboards, or slicing her with our razor sharp computer monitors, and go yell at Fred or something.

The problem is that it's so easy for people to be like that behind the veil of a computer screen. I'm sure that very few people would actually present her with a death threat to her face. There are so many arrogant assholes on the Internet from all around the world, and Youtube is just another outlet for them to express their close-mindedness.

The worst part is that no one admits to defeat over the Internet. Usually it's just a barrage of racial slurrs and curse words after you make a point.

Right, and that's something else they probably wouldn't do in a real life situation either.
