Her millions of youtube hits are mostly people openly mocking her, rather than her being popular. The money she has made is not going to make a difference if all the death threats get too much for her to take and she kills herself. So no, all is not good here. She is dealing with pressure that she hasnt asked for, she has been thrust into the spotlight and doesnt have the same people around her as Myley Cyrus and Justin Bieber. Her parents arent world famous country singers, her backers arent world famous r'n'b stars. |

There is no need to be rude for a start, not that I care much what you think. You can not be sure that the million you tube hits are people mocking her. People in this country like a lot of acts of this nature. Look how well Jedward have done and although Susan Boyle had a decent voice she also had a million You Tube hits.
Why would she get death threats for singing? It's not her fault if she has cashed in on it. Maybe the girl should have though about not singing the song in the first place if she didn't want the pressure so she obviously asked for it. |

Have you even bothered reading the youtube comments on the video? There are far more insulting comments than there are supportive ones, almost 10 times as many people have gone on the video to click dislike in comparison to like. All the evidence points to people mocking her, but you cant see it.
Again, you compare her to people who she has nothing in common with. Jedward have done what exactly? They may be mocked by the public as well, but the massive difference here is that they are happy for the fame, and they chase it. They encourage people to mock them because they crave the attention. Susan Boyle is a completely different story as well, she is an underdog that people really got behind. A story of triumph for the everyday people in a world obsessed with celebrity and image, and here is a frumpy woman who shocks the world by showing that talent is not always packaged in a pretty 20 something with a size zero body. Neither are anything like Rebecca Black. There is so much wrong with pop music these days, terrible lyrics, clichéd videos, autotune everywhere etc, that her song is basically a perfect parody of the current pop music scene. But because she wasnt parodying it, she has been placed by millions of elitist snobs worldwide as the face that represents the death of music (the same snobs who have been sending her death threats). She hasnt chosen to be that face, she didnt market herself as a pop sensation, she merely made a song and video that was put on youtube (by her parents and ARK Music Factory) which took off because of how bad the song and singing was. That is why her life is ruined (for the immediate future at least, in a few years her profile should decrease I'd imagine and she can go back to some semblance of normality), and no amount of money will make up for losing your childhood, just ask Michael Jackson. |

I'd probably put this whole paragraph in my sig if it wasn't so big. Apparently Friday is going to get bigger now that Glee decided to pick it up. 'Glee' to cover Rebecca Black's 'Friday' – The Marquee Blog - CNN.com Blogs It's bad enough to be lambasted on Youtube but now the ****tiness of this song is going to be televised on a very popular program. Apparently this Friday song had more traction than I thought. |
