FIFY.

Both bands dominated the airwaves during the 60s and both had their peers shaking their heads in disbelief of the creativity they were hearing.

Beatles. Here's why. Everybody in the world knows damn near every song. Not just the singles. Those are songs that just grab everybody - even Beatle songs that are pretty much B-sides like "Hey Bulldog" are pretty well-known, while Beach Boys songs like "Caroline, No" are amazing, but didn't invade the public consciousness in the same way. That's enough to give the Beatles the edge for me.

Same here. Not saying the Beach Boys are rubbish, only that I am unable to appreciate them.

Beatles, has to be... Some amazing hits by the Beach Boys (Don't Worry Baby, God Only Knows), but some of the other material isn't up to the same standard. Beatles were far more diverse I feel.

i have to say the Beatles - but honestly I find myself going back and listening to more Beach Boys songs than Beatles songs. More immediate and fun!
