The first group from 65 that started to produce something interesting to me, maybe there's other groups. But for now I haven't found them. I think around 65 The Beatles released Help and then Rubber Soul. And The Stones had Out of our Heads out, Rubber Soul is in top 3 favourite Beatles albums. I've not heard anything from around 1965 from other groups that's really interested me. But I can definitely see both sides to it, if you find music from around that time interesting and different and just as good if not better than The Beatles, it must be incredibly frustrating. But The Beatles are my favourite group, so yeah...

I was actually talking about all of human history prior to the 1960s but, sure, if you want to restrict the conversation to the just the 1950s that's fine. Here are some people I think were making interesting music in the 50s:

I've heard about half of them. I like Johnny Cash a lot out of the ones from that list that I've heard. Chuck Berry, Screamin' Jay Hawkins, Miles Davis etc. I never took to, my 50s music is pretty pathetic to be fair. I really should brush up on it a little more.

Yeah, you must be confusing me with someone else, I never made a list like that. Plus, unlike the Beatles, I actually do like Radiohead. Not my favorite band in the world or anything but I enjoy a lot of their music.

The Beatles are my favourite group, and The Beach Boys are alright... My opinion would purely by out of bias of who's better. As I've listened to The Beatles records so many times, and I don't listen to The Beach Boys much my opinion would be a bit moot. I don't mind The Beach Boys, but I don't think they're that great. I don't even rate Pet Sounds particularly highly, but that's just me.
