Yeah, you're disregarding like 86% of good jazz and 50% of good country there TCS.

Though I do get you confused with another mod, Urban I think. I think he's British and you're American. But I always mistake the both of you. Quote:

I'm not disregarding it in any way shape or form, I'm saying I've heard bits and bobs. And as far as I'm concerned, The Beatles were the first to make interesting music, because what I've heard from the 50s hasn't really appealed to me. Even though I do recognise that people who are into Jazz and Soul music would really hate the whole "Beatles were the first!" thing. Quote:

I don't I've posted anything out of line. Or anything untrue. The Beatles are better than the Beach Boys. Quote:
They were the first to do it on a worldwide scale...in the popular culture idiom. There were LOTS of bands making deep, interesting music before; just not on the radio. Quote:
But the Beach Boys are inferior to them all. Quote:
I just said they were better than the Beach Boys. And they are. Quote:

The Beatles are my favourite group, and The Beach Boys are alright... My opinion would purely by out of bias of who's better. As I've listened to The Beatles records so many times, and I don't listen to The Beach Boys much my opinion would be a bit moot. I don't mind The Beach Boys, but I don't think they're that great. I don't even rate Pet Sounds particularly highly, but that's just me.
