I personally perfer the beatles, because i think they were more creative and cutting edge although i am a big fan of the beach boys. the only thing that sucks is that when they were at their best, was when Brian Wilson was with them and still very creative and that was very short lived, but everyone knows the story. the one thing i wish for is that the beach boys and brian wilson finished Smile back 67 when they were making it nstead of him losing it and trying to make it in 2004 (if only we could of heard the original idea and project).

The thing is, William, that The Beatles were capable of tapping into the mainstream, whilst remaining some manner of integrity.
The Beach Boys arguably had one of the best popular songwriters of all time in Brian Wilson, but their output suffered from a lack of artistic integrity that helped The Beatles become such a superb group overall. You have, especially, Lennon and Harrison, who were able to do something important and lasting, whilst The Beach Boys had nary but Bryan Wilson driving their artistic integrity. I personally prefer the Beach Boys, as their melodic competency far surpassed anything The Beatles put forth, but ultimately, The Beatles were vastly more significant.

Its only because its the second lamest thread on here after Nirvana v Pixies. 50% of these threads usually consist of people just saying The Beatles! The Pixies! or so and so just copied the other
