I've come to like The Beach Boys, but they tend to bore me. I still think The Beatles are much better, There's more life in their songs. I've never been impressed with live Beach Boys footage. Not saying The Beatles were an amazing live band, but they were better than The BB's, IMO. Paul totally owned The BB's at the Grammys.

Yes, I'll grant you that, Paul was fantastic at the grammies. But I did love the Beach Boys segment. I think they should have gone for more understated songs though; for instance, one on the Smile Sessions. Even Smiley Smile has some really fun, really trippy stuff.
Speaking of which, Howard Duckman, I listened to it since you suggested it, and i saw it got pretty good reviews, and it was pretty damn good! Like if Smile took a more direct, weirdly impressionistic-minimalist route. I like the Wind Chimes on it slightly more than the Smile one, as well as Vega-Tables for some aspects. I need to listen to Sunflower now, I've heard Carl Wilson kills it. But the Beach Boys around that general era hasn't bored me, especially Smile (Sessions). To me, it's practically the perfect album, though it has its incomplete song here and there, unfortunately.
