^There are many reasons why one would make a band vs band thread. It has nothing to do with how they are compared (but some could go that route), I would think it's more the fact of what the listener likes more. I could do a band vs band thread of two bands from two different genres, and it'd have the same outcome. One person voting on one band, while another person voting on another.

They're two of the 3 B's of Rock, The Byrds, The Beatles and The Beach Boys. They replaced the 3 Classical B's - Bach, Brahms, Beethoven (sadly The Byrds are forgotten.) The 3 B's of Rock in turn have been replaced by the 3 L's - Linkin Park, Lady Gaga and her country-counterpart Lady Antebellum.

Groups that do harmonies are the best imo. But I think I know what you mean, Brian was into weird melodies and chords plus they did that kinda not-so-into it harmonies (a good analogy would be Beach Boys:harmonies::Unplugged:playing the song for real.)

oh wow a good thread...
each of these bands were a favorite of one of my parents so i grew up with both. and to be honest i couldnt make a decent decision. brian wilson and john lennon/paul mccartney are both epic songwriters. what i always really liked about the beach boys though is their 60s american sounding style. |
