Kirsty Vs Igor Blaska - Green

Thom Yorke 12-05-2011 12:14 PM

Sophe Lux - An interesting pop band with kind of an art rock and cabaret flare to it. They have some really catchy hooks.

I highly recommend Crowded House to anyone who likes pop and good music in general. Here's a few of their better known songs for those who haven't heard of them yet.

Can anyone tell me some songs like this one?

It's called Nymphomaniac by Richie Acri
I like it because its electro and pop, and because of the lyrics.
Any other songs like this?
I am new so I cant post a link to the video on youtube, but if you want to look it up search

Richie Arci - Nymphomaniac (Dirty Electro Mix)

It's the first video.
You might need an 18+ account. I'm not sure.

You probably aren't going to like this, but I prefer Susan Boyle's version (and I'm not normally a fan of what she does). I just think it has more feeling.

Not necessarily a pop artist but there's a few songs that fit the category.

Necromancer 01-26-2012 03:37 PM

Seal - Seal (1991)

Ive mentioned Seal's 1991 debut album a few times now. This self intitled album contains some outstanding singles. Crazy being one of the more popular songs from the album.

Since this is my "post videos day".

Emil & Friends

I have just discovered this NY-based American musician. It's simply enormous and full of talent. The first video is a little long to start.

Been listening to this guy recently. Name's Jonah Kue. He's kind of a mix between Frank Ocean and Gotye

Didn't expect to see that. His whole album is pretty underrated. Its one of my favorites. Here's another track from the album, its pretty long but definitely worth it if anybody likes late 80s synth pop

Can someone help me find tunes that sound a bit like these artists: Sia Furler, Florence & The Machine, Panic At The Disco (Latest Panic). Also if it's possible can the songs/Artists be strong and meaningful?

Thanks guys. :D

That song reminded me of Jason Walker - Down. Pretty good but sad song :)

Visiblman 09-25-2012 12:57 PM

I'm too new to be able to post links, but I came across a local artist who did an "Africanized" cover of Michael Jackson's "They Don't Care About Us" and One Republic's "Good Life." Go to youtube and search for Alexboyetv or Maisha Mazuri and it will take you to the right song. He's also got a kickstarter project, so you can support him if you like it.

Creative Indie Pop Artists

Hi all, I was just wondering what some of your favorite pop artists were, that were perhaps more unknown? I've been through a lot of videos on YouTube of over 100's of different artists, and there seems to be a lot of cool stuff out there that is undiscovered. It's kind of time consuming though and overwhelming to find stuff that I like. Any pop bands or solo artists out there that you might recommend?

shana 10-23-2012 02:57 PM

Have you heard of DWNTWN? If you like those bands, you'd probably like them. Cool indie/pop

shana 10-23-2012 02:58 PM

DWNTWN is really cool, and nobody knows about them! listen to their song See My Eyes, sooo good

Check out this singer/songwriter - Belle

This is a pretty new indie artist called Belle. She's really mature andnot into trying to be sexy. I really respect her for that, and her music is quite touching.

DjNexus 11-01-2012 04:19 PM

agreed

Agreed .. good stuff right there.

I also classify Nickelback in the pop genre more so, than either of the rock or metal genre's.

Check out Paloma Faith. I love her song "Never Tear Us Apart."

She's a VEVO Lift Artist so there's a ton of extras on her here.
