Agreed, awesome album. You know, I really do think I prefer Hunky Dory to Ziggy Stardust. |

Like others have said, I consider pop as something (generally) happy, radio friendly and more than anything, catchy as hell.
Great as they are, neither Kraftwerk or Bowie's Low are any of those things, IMO. Here's mine: 1.) Pet Sounds, The Beach Boys 2.) Please Please Me, The Beatles (here as more of a pop blueprint than anything) 3.) Arrival, ABBA 4.) In Color, Cheap Trick 5.) East Side Story, Squeeze Honorable mention: Nick Lowe, Jesus of Cool Gin Blossoms, New Miserable Experience Raspberries, Raspberries Sloan, One Cord To Another Big Star, #1 Record/Radio City The Cardigans, Life Shoes, Shoes Best Graham Parker, Squeezing Out Sparks Elvis Costello, Armed Forces The Knack, Get The Knack Utopia Parkway, Fountains of Wayne Last edited by npc210; 12-31-2010 at 11:43 PM. |
