My first post, gratz to myself!

I read through most of this thread and i didn't see any mention of coldplay. They are one of the most popular international bands going and they are not as commercilized as a N.A band such as the Jonas Brothers (go go disney marketing machine!). Coldplay is a similar generic type of soft rock/pop, however lyrically and musically they seem more diverse.

I personally prefer some of the other mentions in this thread (the chilipeppers for example, im not even a coldplay fan for that matter), however, I still feel that coldplay appeals to a larger audience then some of the other mentions.

Default The Rolling Stones

The Rolling Stones,(by all reason should inherit the throne), The 'Who' would be a runner up.

The Who and the Rolling Stones were actually The Beatles competition back in the day, Moot Point.
Is Moot Point your name? No? Well, its your new one.

Maná. Great tunes (though I think many of them sound the same). Consistently good.

For everyone whose never heard of switchfoot (you really arent missing anything). Here is their "enormous" hit single that took its rightful place on buzz ballads along with every other cute little power ballad.

draw your own conclusions on their sound, posting a video is what should have been done from the get go
