Well since you made an immediate judgement about one of the few guys I respect regarding their music tastes and their opinions generally regarding music on here without knowing who they are or what they are about, I think I will pass.

Fastball-The Way, should be in the top 20, at least. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b0wfu3tOrtQ

They're a crappy Christian rock band that sound like a million other crappy Christian rock bands. You aren't missing anything.

Music has changed wayyy too much since The Beatles were even around. There's no band who will grow that successful. One band can be loved by many, but hated by many too. It's just too varied these days.

I've no objection to you hearing them but don't sound so bloody proud of the fact.

alright, after reading through this thread i have to agree with the Barenaked Ladies nod. personally i prefer Sloan but i don't think they got that big outside of Canada.

Fastball was a decent one hit wonder back in the day as well, and while they're probably still going at it, few people are hearing it. The Starlight Mints would be a good fit for the 'throne' as well, if they could get a break.

Blur anyone?

as for the Chili Peppers in terms of this thread. WTF? their sound is maturing??? seems to me it's been adult contemporary drek for a decade, and i was the kind of fan who would wear a sock as a haloween costume.

and Switchfoot sucks, it's like Coldplay replaced the piano with a guitar player who only ever learned U2 songs.
