i personally love by the way...honestly i consider it to be one of their classics now. one hot minute had its moments but without frusciante i found it hard to appreciate. californication was a return to prominence but your standard rock type sound. by the way just latched on to this chilled yet funky vibe and i loved it. stadium arcadium was weak imo.

and i actually liked stadium. it can't compare to by the way in any way but its still a great album. it takes a little to recognized that they've changed, but hey, they're growing up. and now that john's gone, flea should have a bigger role. so who knows what's coming...

I'd like to say Radiohead, they're the only big modern band I can think off with the same sort of cult like reverence that The Beatles seemed to get. But it doesn't feel right, because when The Beatles started experimenting they kept a very accessible pop-ness whereas Radiohead took it in other directions.
If I was only judging by a stream of great pop songs then I would hands down pick Why?, although he is not nearly as prolific - and the throne of The Beatles is a lot more than solid pop music. Maybe if he has a massive single and everyone discovers his discography retrospectively. Otherwise I could probably get behind Fasho on RHCP. |

There is no new funk. The whole premise of the band originally was immaturity and that's why they suck now. BTW who the frig are Switchfoot?
