Marilyn Manson is my favorite modern pop star, despite his obvious and excessive Alice Cooper/KISS/Bowie/Eno/Rozz Williams backbiting ('course there's a bit of overlapping there but still). The things he has to say are a lot more interesting than most of the content in more commonplace pop songs and while he's certainly not the most accesible pop artist he's definitely very popular commercially.
