Yesterday I was listening to this, and someone put my earphone and exclaimed that it sounded scarily similar to TiK ToK.
I wasn't pleased.

TheBig3 01-14-2010 07:45 AM

I can't listen at work but with music like this, doesn't it sounds all the same anyway. Its not like I'd listen for the differences in movements.

I don't know who Uffie is, but this ke$ha kid has freckles, is a blonde, and wears chucks. I might be in love.

FETCHER. 01-14-2010 05:11 PM

 I didn't mean the beats, just the singing style is very very similar. Still like the song, it's just another confusion for me :(.

Uffie is only the singer btw. The tune is Justice

TheBig3 01-14-2010 09:25 PM

Ok now that I can listen to this song, I'd have to say that yes its very similar but this "style" isn't what I like about the OP song. Ke$ha tends to employ an whiteness level not seen since elvis costellos outfit. And by that I mean its by design.

What I hear in this justice song is a level of ironic hipster whiteness. Its hedging its bets. In one breath it says its white so it shouldn't be held to the same standard, but it then employs a very directed, and serious effort to convince people that this is in fact legitimate party music.

What I don't like about the Justice song that I do about the Ke$ha song is that there seems to be an unabashed social reality to Ke$ha. I think more people conduct themself as she does in her song, as opposed to what Justice has here that in literally imitating imitators.

You can imagine the justice woman dressing like a retro-fit scene kid. I imagine Ke$ha to look like Paris Hilton. In the world of pop only one's being honest, and it doesn't compromise anything.

OP song? No I'm not disagreeing with you.. I'm just sayin they're similar and I don't want them to kill one another by being overplayed.

This is Uffie btw. I found it hard to get a decent picture of her without her tits out.
http://img28.xooimage.com/files/3/b/6/uffie-56bce0.jpg

I do like kesha's song. It's just getting a little old now. The pub I drink in people pick it over and over and over and over on the jukebox. It gets tiring. :(

I can't stop being surprised at how much white trash Great Britain actually has. Makes me reconsider about wanting to live there.

FETCHER. 01-15-2010 09:44 AM

 I would try and argue this one out. But it's sort of true. In cities anyways up here.

Did you really think that some place on the planet would be comprised of aristocratic, civilized people?

Trash is 90% of humanity. And we all show at least symptoms from time to time. Embrace it my friend.

Arya Stark 01-15-2010 10:16 AM

It is scarily similar.

Great Britain? Don't you mean America? Uffie and Kesha are American. I mistook Uffie for British.

adidasss 01-15-2010 11:42 AM

No, I was referring to the fact that your local pub can't stop playing the song which means there's a huge demand for it and I can't see how anyone but white trash would get off on it. I don't think any other European country has the equivalent of chavs.

if the facerug gets him tang, then its more white trash than we first suspected.

Arya Stark 01-15-2010 08:41 PM

Did you just call big3 a hoe? Lol.

I'll take hoe if it means I'm conscious of the fact that "irony" doesn't make you immune to hypocrisy.

The french have white trash as well.

TumorAttitude 01-18-2010 09:43 AM

I knowz, hoe, but don't hipsters wear horrible facial hair for irony purposes? Thats how it goes, read Street Carnage.

1. You have a Green Day lyric for your location and a Megan Fox avatar. I don't know if you should serve as authority on Hipsterdom.

2. Eventually the Ironic is associated with its wearer. Those guys I'm sure wanted to make a statement. But against what is a good question because unless France already has white trash, then that facial hair doesn't make any sense.

Those guys are flee-ridden bums like the entire lot of Alabama, Brooklyn, Austin, and Paris.

TumorAttitude 01-18-2010 11:21 AM

I am totally not ready to get banned yet so I'm going to STFU.
But you smell. You smell, you smell, you smell, you smell.

Ha, you're not going to get banned for having an argument.

And maybe I do, but smell =/= wrong.

TumorAttitude 01-24-2010 08:32 PM

Big3, you seem to be fond of lists, so what better way to ensure my NOTGETTINGBANNED then to copy your format.
1. I'm going to say some really beeyotchy things, so here's a present, from you to me, before shit starts to get real.
http://i49.tinypic.com/2jcvc46.jpg
I shouldn't have.
2. Justice were nominated for two grammys. This doesn't really prove that they're good (although they are), but grammy nominations tend to come with mad bank. I can't really say if they're able to afford gold plated swimming pools or not, but dudes are undoubtedly not "flea ridden bums" and if they are, they totally are by choice.
3. I'm still pretty much a n00b and I'm pretty much terrified of you. You have a reputation for banning people for silly reasons. You're like, a chode or something.
4. I'm sorry sir, do you want me to change my avatar and location?

TumorAttitude 01-24-2010 08:35 PM

P. S.: Just to prove to you how much of a hipster I am, here's a picture.

Sansa Stark 01-24-2010 10:48 PM

This song is ****ing terrible. I heard they're saying she's gonna be the next Gaga, I just want to punch her in the face. And why the **** would you **** a dude that looked like Mick Jagger?

FETCHER. 01-25-2010 10:29 AM

 I love your rants. True though, why would you **** a guy who looked like Mick Jagger

Arya Stark 01-25-2010 11:08 AM

Not only that but she doesn't talk to guys unless they look like him at all.

How many guys are there?

Money doesn't preclude you from being trashy. I have no reputation for banned people without real reason. I'd be concerned about your reputation though, if I were you.

Further more, get back on topic. The picture posts and the BS aren't even a logical digression any longer.

noise 01-25-2010 12:44 PM

oh my god and jesus as well. that's bad music.

i actually know one of the guys playing guitar for her. he used to front a great punk/pop band called The Actual.

he really, really, really sold out, and i'm disappointed him.

bah.

TumorAttitude 01-25-2010 02:19 PM

Okay, go on about how much Ke$ha sucks, I guess....

Roemilca 01-25-2010 07:29 PM

Ke$ha sucks.

duga 01-25-2010 07:32 PM

i watched the vid with that fat girl dancing around to it before i watched the real music vid....so now i have that image forever associated with this song, and any amount of tolerance i may have had for it is now gone.

sorry...she sucks...

Terrible Lizard 01-25-2010 07:33 PM

Come on guise.
Not everyday you wake up feeling like P-Diddy.

Muzak 01-25-2010 08:53 PM

some of her dance stuff is ridiculously catchy but I see it wearing thin fast, like most pop music. Tik Tok sounds like Uffie but I like Uffie more.

I also found it interesting how much of a throwback "Take it Off" is to that old "there's a place in france where the naked ladies dance..." tune in melody and part of the lyrics.

IWP 01-26-2010 11:15 AM

Music wise:

Lady Gaga & La Roux >>> Kesha

Looks wise:

Kesha >>> Lady Gaga & La Roux

Kesha is ****ing hot! Makes me wish I looked like Mick Jagger. =P
