How about some KC and the Sunshine Band? This was a fairly big hit in the US in the early '80s.

I know Guybrush originally mentioned in the first post that many of these songs get covered - well in this case, this was recently remixed - it's a house remix, and it actually is really good - check it out!

I just listened to Maniac, from the Flashdance soundtrack.

No 80s conversation is complete without hearing my countryman Corey Hart. Sunglasses at night? Fuggedaboodit.

I have a problem with Ms Lennox. I’ve no rational explanation but there’s something about the tone of her voice which annoys the hell out of me.
On the surface I’ve been able to see what she’s aiming for but how she gets there gives me the horrors. Totally irrational but I’d rather run my fingernails over sandpaper than have to listen to her again.
I have the same reaction to Maria Callas who to my ears sounds as if she’s singing with a mouth full of spoof/slag.

Well that gave me the giggles. In one word ‘infectious’. But what’s the function of the guy on the left?
The girls could take a few dance lessons but maybe that’s not why they were there?

I think the word infectious is a good word to describe most of the hits of the 80s.
