Well it's not their only collaboration.

Girlfiend was written by MaCartney for MJ and while one of the weaker Off the Wall tracks it's still pretty decent, it certainly has that MaCartney feel to it.

And then of course, Say Say Say, which I have to admit, when I hear it, I can't get it the f*ck out of my head.

I forgot about those other collaborations... and, indeed, you're right, they are better than The Girl Is Mine by quite a stretch...

The Girl is Mine ain't so bad... Say Say Say is a better track though. I used to love the video (when I was 5). I wonder if The Girl is Mine would have been a better track had they not said "Dog-on girl" and also not had that weak exchange "I'm a lover not a fighter" moment.

Oh yeah, that talking bit in the song is cheesier than stuffed crust pizza, and the dog - on bit, yeah, schmaltzy to the max... probably wouldn't save the spng completely to exclude those parts, but it would make significant improvements...

yeah, I never thought it ruined the album but I can certainly see it as a weak link on the most successful album of all time.

His first three solo albums were great. He creeped me out but I have to admit his songs were fun to listen to. I would say there's nothing wrong with listening to him if you enjoy his music. Just don't play it too loud in public
