People's personal life should not in any way be used to undermine the massive input to popular music. I feel like a parrot saying these things over and over again, most people should be able to recognise his influence and importance within the music industry. Im not even a fan.

Then if that's what they want they shouldn't put it out in the public domain to sell records. The whole controversy about him having kids in his bed came out of the Panorama interview, something set up by his own people to publicise his newest greatest hits album.

And it backfired spectacularly.
That's not the fault of the media, that's down to himself.

I was referring to people on here making lame jokes about touching kids and stuff like that when he should be recognised for his music and not for these things that he was cleared of anyway. Why the fuck do I care, Im not even a fan lol. Good point there though Urban. Although I'm not totally alien to the idea of using the media as a springboard for publicity.

As a pop artist he was fine, though the amount of attention he gets is certainly annoying. Not really our place to judge him as a human being though.

And Urban...I find your avatar rather disturbing for some reason.

How about that? Nothing generates a rock star's record sales better than death. That sh*t would sell like mad.

If his kids inherit that money, they'll be set for life.

That is awesome! I'm keen to hear some of that stuff.

Maybe if it was put aside to make money for his kids the material might be better than the reportedly dismal stuff on his last album...

Still, I was rather shocked by his death when I heard about it.... I've been more a detractor than a fan for the most.... but he really has been one of the biggest stars of my generation, and hence his passing is significant and rather poignant for me...

Last night I felt oliged to listen to him, and I'm glad I did. Before I really only knew "Thriller" and "Beat It" plus a couple others, but his whole Essentials album is full of amazing songs. i'll definatley be doing more listening.

you do realize he's accumulated about $300M in debt, right? he had to sell off Neverland and everything, that's why he was doing a comeback tour in the first place.
