allow me to kick this dead rotten corpse of a horse please

so I'm listening to Dangerous and HIStory the other day and noticed how thin and raspy Mikes voice sounded in comparison to Off the wall and Thriller. I guess Bad is somewhere in between, leaning more towards the better. Is this as a result of his surgery's? he sounds like he is constantly trying to clear his throat instead of actually singing. Anybody else notice this? I mean it's not unlistenable, it's just an observation.

Yeah I know what you're talking about.

Bad and Dangerous are great albums but IMO they lack the freshness of Off the Wall and Thriller, the deep tracks on those albums were just as tight as the singles. But with Bad and Dangerous the singles are the real highlights.

I loved the production of Thriller, I thought the mix of real instruments and synths gave it a really crisp sound. Bad is a lot more polished, with more emphasis on synths and it lacks the R&B flavor of his previous albums, and IMO Jackson is at his best when he does funk and soul. With his later work he was making more of a crossover to rock and more traditional pop music, which was still good, but he was no longer at his peak, that will always be Thriller for me.

Michael jackson would always remain a classic singer. I still give respects to his songs and his dance steps.

Hi everybody!

I have a question for you...

Few years ago (10 years or smth like that) I had a chance to watch a MJ video on MTV or some other euro-music-video TV station. I have no idea what was it, maybe it wasn't even a music video but some kind of music-special, but I do remember it was veeeery loooong (I think it was over 30min.), and I remember a deserted castle at night, and I KNOW there was a lot of dancing...

Has anyone seen this video? Do you know what it is or where to find it?

I know exactly what you're talking about. It's a short film called Ghosts. It was made by special effects wizard Stan Winston and based on a story by Stephen King.

Enjoy:

Agreed. Off the Wall and Thriller are great everything after that was garbage. MJ rode the crest of his first 2 albums for about 20 years

Now now, that's not what I said at all, Bad and Dangerous are still very solid albums, I'm just saying they're not the masterpieces that Off the Wall and Thriller are, I still like them a great deal.

HIStory is pretty lame though.

While Thriller is a good album I think critics rank it tooo high as far as Jacksons best works. I exactly think Dangerous and even Bad are better.

History is exactly pretty good. The album is full of diversity and solid tracks. Not his best but still good.
