Your not with them 24/7 to make some assement BUT your ultimately going to think what you want to think.
If you bring something out into the public domian it'll get discussed. The whole baby dangling thing was done posing to his fans and the press. The admittion of having kids sleeping in his bed was made in an interveiw with Martin Bashir that HE granted. This isn't people muck raking his personal life this is things he has chosen to do himself for publicity sake. Publicity for his music, so I would argue it's a perfectly legitimate thing to discuss in a thread about an artist. Would you like me to ban all references to the Sex Pistols appearing on the Grundy Show too in threads about the Sex Pistols because that has nothing to do with the music either?
Quote:
All the mess and legal problems in the past with Jackson is not changing either, so why spend 7 pages trying to talk about the obvious? For what. We know the man has issues thats not the original point of the thread. Its about his music and his talent which still and always will be relevant regardless of all the mess his been into.
And to a lot of people that talent is tainted. And everytime someone expresses this opinion you complain about it. that's why this thread has ran on so long.
Quote:
Its nothing wrong with talking about his personal life but its immature when you constantly come into the thread and hold that against his music.
I don't see too many people in here using this against his music. For the most part I see people saying that his work over the past 20 or so years pales in comparison to his earlier work , something I happen to agree with.

Quote:
I accept critiscism and understand everybody is not going to like the same thing you like but some of you people need to grow up and it has nothing to do with the biased Michael Jackson opinions. You can think whatever you want to think about his music or him but how some of you carry it is ridiculous.

We know some of you don't like him.
We know some of you don't like his music.
We know some of you think his overrated.
We know some of you only hold his older work more.
Why constantly come into the thread and make comments that everyone already knows where you stand at? Why come into the thread and bash people that enjoy Michael Jackson's music and I'm NOT talking specifically to YOU with half of this post because you seem to act like alot of your people don't carry like that when they do. Why come into the thread if your not interested in Jackson and just want to start drama.. its tired.
If they bother you that much ignore them. Lots of people have given their opinion about his music yet you seem to ignore those unless they're full of praise for everything he's done. As far as i'm concerened anyone who's heard any of his music can comment freely in here regardless of what they like or dislike about it.

Quote:
Let the people that appreaciate Jackson's MUSIC have some real music discussions and not all the drama thats all I'm saying. I'm not trying to change your opinion and I've already accepted how you feel, some of you people just need to accept other peoples opinion period.
Nobody is stopping you from enjoying it. And accepting people's opinions goes both ways. I accept yours , I just don't agree with it. And if you can't handle that then you shouldn't be posting on a forum in the first place.

People are free to discuss whatever they like , if you don't like what's being discussed either be prepared to fight your corner or ignore it.
This whole Jackson thing isn't going to go away , like I said he's tainted now , you can blame him , you can blame the media or you can blame whoever you like , no matter how good your intentions are you're not going to stop it and i'm not going to stop it either.

It's just too easy to criticize musicians because of their publlic persona.

If I had a dime for every time I hear Michael Jackson's music sucks because he's a pedophile, U2 sucks because Bono is a publicity whore, Guns N Roses suck because Axl is a d*ckhole.

I don't know if I brought this up before. But since theres some hardcore Jackson fans here, I wonder if any of you can shed some light on this.

Theres this urban legend that Michael Jackson actually wrote the music for the video game Sonic the Hedgehog 3, but he wasn't credited because of the child molestation controversy.

I think it's true, because several of Jacksons session musicians were credited in the game. And the music sounds VERY Michael Jacksony, though it could just be a tribute.

For example, the end credits to the game sound exactly like Stranger of Moscow, a song Jackson didn't release until a few years after the game. Who Is It sounds almost identical to the Ice Cap Zone theme when sped up, parts of Carnival Night Zone sound like Jam, Knuckles theme sounds like the beat from In The Closet.

I think a guy who actually worked for Sega confirmed this.

Just a weird bit of Jackson trivia there.

That is a really weird piece of trivia if that's true.

Very True.

One of the people in charge of developing Sonic the Hedgehog 3 revealed in a interview that at one point Michael Jackson composed the music to Sonic 3Jackson wrote music for the game, however the same guy stated that Jackson’s music had to be replaced, at great cost. The reason behind
Jackson’s replacement was because MJ was in a full sex scandal when the game was in development. Sega panicked and didn’t want the scandal to have negative effects on their game. You see some of Jackson’s tracks and cord progressions made it into the game which you have already stated. The mini-boss song has actual voice samples from Jackson.

In Black Metal, having a notorious rep may be a good thing. Take Varg Vikernes for example. He played bass in the band "Mayhem" (under the stage-name "Count Grishnackh") for a little while until he killed fellow band-member and guitar player Øystein "Euronymous" Aarseth and got convicted to the maximum penalty of the law in Norway, which is 21 years in prison. He's also known for church-burning, extreme right-wing-ism and nazism and his intention to blow up a certain "Blitz" building in Oslo (housing leftist punkers), a plan foiled by his arrest for the murder.

Burzum, his one man project (with a portion of the discography recorded behind bars, of course), is very well known in Black Metal circles and I'm sure an important reason for that is simply because of the man's notoriety.

So my point is, maybe MJ should reschool himself musically and try out a genre where his child-molesting image could work to his advantage?

They might have lied about the music being replaced, theres too many similarities with Jacksons music throughout the game, and you're right, I forgot to bring up the samples, some of them were very obviously taken from Jackson songs, theres a voice sample from Jam that's clearly used in the game.

I don't think any of Jacksons music was used in Sonic & Knuckles though, which was meant to be the second half of Sonic 3 but was released as a seperate game due to time constraints, but I think some of Jacksons session musicians worked on that game's soundtrack as well, since Jackson was probably gonna do the music for it too, apparrently there actually are some scraped songs that Jackson wrote that can be found in the game through a code.

Your right for the most part
but with MJ you never know because you can't believe everything folks say.
I can't remember the name of it now but back like in maybe the late 80's early 90's there was a Michael Jackson smooth criminal game lol similar to the video.

I enjoy reading your posts not just here but through out the forum because your view points are well put together and you seem to exactly know what your talking about. Also, you dont act like an ass and pressure your opinions on others unlike alot of your peers here do.
