Nah, I wouldn't say that either.

Don't get me wrong, I do believe that Michael Jackson is an iconic figure over decades.

I don't believe he is worthy of inspiration. People have this lasting adoration of Michael Jackson, and ignore his history of twisted reality. The accusations cast on him. The millions of dollars he spent to try to erase those accusations. To make them go away. The weird way he makes his children live. The man needs to just become recluse. I've had enough of him.

The King and Prince did those things on their OWN, Michael didnt ask for it and now they want money back, for what? It turns out they figured kissing his ass would give them more popularity and would eventually get them an album. They probably expected Michael to live there permenatly but it didn't work out that way. So they mad.
Their just mad because they wanted Michael to record an album on their record label. So there were trying to sue him to get the money and gifts they gave him, which were suppose to be gifts from the heart regardless if Michael did an album or not. That is some greed bull****.

So now your an expert on business deals AND a mind reader. You can't possibly know what went on. If it was as cut and dry as you say it is why did he settle out of court?

Oh Urban please sit down some where...

Refrain from trying to prove a point which isn't there. Expert, Mind reader who said that? YOU said that not me. I don't know what went on and what was exactly said but its factual evidence that Michael went over to Bahrain. During his stay the prince and his father showered him with gifts. It was also in talks that he was suppose to record an album on his record label BUT it never happened.

Now, Just because YOU are unware of information and I am doesn't mean I'm claiming to know everything because you obviously don't because the lawsuit been dropped.

He didn't settle, the PRINCE wanted to settle. Michael was willing and ready to fight it but he went ALONG with it. The whole thing was stupid anyway, I'm glad its over before it could even start.

What does his personal life have to do with whether he's inspired people musically?

a child molesting man does not inspire me. at all. i don't care how many hits he's had, there's no way i could possibly ever admire somebody who has made such poor, f*cked up choices.

Michael Jackson is so superior to Prince it's not even funny.

I don't care that Prince is still making albums and MJ is not, I don't care that Prince plays his own instruments and writes all his songs, I don't care how "technically" better a singer he is, and I don't care how more likable a person he is, these are all bad arguments. All in all, I still think Prince's music is just plain horrible, I hate his voice, his songwriting is redundant and the stuff this guy chooses to write songs about is just disgusting. His semi-porn lyrics is the kinda trash that's all over the pop industry today. His influence on pop is even more negative than Jacksons.

Meanwhile Michael Jackson has made what is in my mind one of the best album trilogies ever with Off the Wall, Thriller and Bad.

Michael Jackson doesn't owe you anything. His just an entertainer. He was cleared of all charges in a court of law. So the reason to continue to bring it up doesn't mean anything and why would you judge a man you know nothing about?

His music is good. Thats the ONLY thing that matters period.

What he does in his private life or his character is NOT a reflection of that. Regardless of what has happened to him, his success and talent can never be taken away or downgrades it.

how's it goin, girl.

it's always a tough crowd when discussing Michael Jackson without the masses indulging in tabloid perceptions and corny celeb-obsessed culture talk or even getting into irrational comparisons (see Prince vs. Jackson) all of which only proves further their music-dyslexia complex.

but it's an even tougher crowd when you do it in a joint where the Soul/Funk section constitutes less than 1% of the forum's discussion.
