if its the right one..

Bucket Foot 09-03-2009 01:55 PM

Hmm... well the first 5 seconds wasn't very good.
Can't tell you about the rest.

Mojo 09-05-2009 08:18 AM

I made it through 30 seconds of it.

moserw 09-05-2009 08:29 AM

Grew up on MJ so its right to say anything by him goes for me. Don't listen to much of his music these days but do tune in every so often. Otherwise rock is my staple diet!

Hahaha, lucky. I made through 21.

FaSho 09-05-2009 10:12 AM

I liked it :shycouch:

Rickenbacker 09-05-2009 01:01 PM

I used to be able to listen to his music, but now I can't stand anything associated with him because of the non stop media coverage of his death and afterwards. It bores the hell out of me and I really couldn't care less about him now.

PartisanRanger 09-05-2009 01:16 PM

What does the coverage of his death have to do with his music? Who cares?

Mojo 09-05-2009 04:13 PM

^^ What they said. Fair enough if it annoys you but it should have no effect on your ability to his listen to his music.

scottsy 09-05-2009 08:09 PM

I guess once you hear about him too often in a day, it probably would be diofficult to sit through his music... he is absolutely, totally over exposed... even in his death, there's just way too much dialogue being spent over this guy.....

pk00 09-06-2009 05:14 AM

"Beat it" is one of his best songs, and the music video is one of the greatest of all times.

I can see why people would get tired of hearing about him, but i'm still not getting why this would suddenly make you unable to listen to his music.

Like, thriller, 2000 watts, Dangerous and lot more.

Thanks!!

Heads off to him.:band:

Why? I agree that the media has had a field day with MJ's death but I still listen to his music often and enjoy it as much as ever.

scottsy 09-09-2009 09:45 PM

I dunno, for me it's kinda like boredom by association... the minute I hear a song by him, I am reminded of all the media stuff still circulation and it instantly turns me off... I dunno, maybe its just me, I have been known to make odd conclusions at times... hehehe....

I understand thinking of everything associated with him. But it honestly shouldn't change your opinion of his music. When I hear his music, I think about his death. The loss. The fact that none of his family gets privacy. It's all very sad, really. And it's saddening to hear that you're allowing this to affect your listening in a negative way, as opposed to a positive one.

storymilo 09-09-2009 10:09 PM

I have exactly two songs by the man: Beat It, and Billie Jean

They're really not all bad but he is definitely not my style.

Arya Stark 09-09-2009 10:19 PM

Michael Jackson doesn't have a specific style. You just gotta love him for him.

Listen to more. [[[= Please?

Just to get a feel for some of his other music.

Maybe... I actually prefer his stuff with the Jackson 5 over his solo work, so I could listen to that. But no promises

Not the same. xD

Mojo 09-10-2009 08:06 AM

Destiny, which was released as The Jacksons is a great album. And if you like that then I would at least check out Off The Wall if you haven't already.

Ok, I've finally gotten around to hearing Bad in its entirety and I'd say it's twice as good as Thriller. I feel like 90% of the songs on it were either released as singles or have (had) the potential to be. Thriller seems like a more of a crossover record with much more straight up r'n'b whilst Bad is just pure pop (which is obviously more to my liking). Plus, I'm thinking Smooth Criminal might be the best thing he's ever recorded?

FETCHER. 09-10-2009 03:09 PM

downloaded some album of his greatest music

i had no idea it was the Jacksons who done Blame It On The Boogie & Dont Stop Till You Get Enough, owell you learn something new everyday...

Mojo 09-10-2009 03:15 PM

Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough was on Off The Wall, but the Jacksons did perform it live.

scottsy 09-10-2009 08:56 PM

Don't Stop Till You Get Enough is actually a damn punchy, funky song... hats off to him... great song!

Smooth Criminal has always been one of my favourites by him. ^_^

I've never really been a big fan of "Billie Jean."

"Beat It" is higher in the list.

scottsy 09-12-2009 06:31 PM

Smooth criminal was pretty decent... and as useless as Alien Ant Farm was as a band... they did a pretty decent cover it... but I guess the songwriting was done for them... their own work more than likely sucks...

Mine, I think, would be

1) Beat It
2) Give into Me
3) Another Part of Me
4) Get On The Floor
5) Smooth Criminal

I don't know them very well, but I liked the cover. Listen to them before you say anything too bad, though.

Really? I think somewhere on that list for me would be "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" and "The Way You Make Me Feel."

Also, "Whatever Happens" from the newest album, "Invincible."

It's a song he did with Carlos Santana.

Mojo 09-12-2009 07:41 PM

Nothing off Invincible really stood out for me but it's not the really terrible album it was made out to be in my opinion. If im honest I used to think so though.

Dont Stop Til You Get Enough and The Way You Make Me Feel are bth good songs but they wouldnt make my top 5. Possibly not even my top 10. Workin' Day and Night, Jam, Why You Wanna Trip On Me, Shake Your Body (Down to the Ground), Can You Feel It and Blame it on the Boogie would be there or there abouts.

It's not terrible at all. There is NO way that it surpass any of the other albums, in my opinion. But it was an amazing album for me... one that I thoroughly enjoyed.

It was the album that I was old enough to buy on my own, sit down and listen to each song. I loved Michaeal Jackson's work already, but I was able to enjoy it as music of my generation rather than music my parents told me I was really able to experience.

Mojo 09-12-2009 07:54 PM

Dangerous was the first album I ever owned and that was released when I was 7 years old. HIStory for me was really the album of his that I should have had the same kind of connection with because I was the right age. I seem to remember I used to quite like it too at the time but I cant listen to it now.

Because you listened to it so much?

scottsy 09-12-2009 08:08 PM

There most definitely is such thing as album burnout...
