I cannot stand Phil Collins but at least he can play drums and produce a few good tracks. RW is a stain and how he is still around is astonishing.
Robbie is a classic example of hype without substance. I get the impression he doesn't even like what he's doing, but he signed a contract and got loads of money, so he has to drag himself into the studio and be a good boy for the men in suits.

The absence of Phil Collins from any kind of recording studio these last few years can only be a good thing. That said, I do like "In the air tonight", as long as I don't hear it too often. Not that that excuses his numerous subsequent musical atrocities.

Awww, i have a soft spot for Poor Phil... he definitely has some very weak material in his solo catalogue, but I always thought he was always still in good form when working with his Genesis buddies... and up until he sustained a back / neck injury, he could still play the hell out of a drumkit.

I think you're a Villa fan, but I really hope you're not:

He optimises every Villa fan I've ever met - a bit of a mong.

Plus, United >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Robbie f*cking Williams.

Great performer, I heard he's always to nervous to gone onstage but you can't tell.
Nice music and humor. Check the clip of Misunderstood

I like the way he express his music. And how he relates his song with the video clip, it's great. I seldom watched his live performances, but I think it's pretty good.

It's easy to hate (fun, too!) but you have to give the guy credit. He pulled himself out of some serious addiction, went solo when no-one really knew or cared who he was, and succeeded on his own terms. At least he writes (some of) his own stuff, isn't a manufactured commodity and, at the back of it all, I really don't think he's taking himself too seriously. I get the feeling he's sort of standing backstage thumbing back at the world with a "get them!" look. Course, the money helps...

All Robbie haters avoid my journal in the next few weeks, as I'll be, hopefully, putting together my special on him for the "Gone solo in the game" slot. Jackhammer, you have been warned: don't come crying to me later!
