i've got three of their albums. they're pretty good when you're in the mood for mellow electronica pop.
their debut 'simple things' borrowed a LOT from air's 'moon safari', to the point of practically lifting the bassline from 'la femme d'argent' on their track 'i have seen'. their 2nd album 'when it falls' is alright, more of the same, nothing really outstanding. their 3rd 'the garden' is FANTASTIC. they really come into their own on this one and go from sounding like a wannabe air into their own thing. 'the pageant of the bizarre' is golden. by far the most essential of their releases to my ears. the song in the clip (somersault) is actually the only one i could name from their 2nd disc of the top of my head. |

absolutely. don't let the aftertaste of 'when it falls' sour your view on the band. 'look up' is a decent track but it doesn't really do much more than the other instrumentals on their debut, if anything it stands out as great due to the relatively poor quality of the rest of the album. if you just want to dig on their instrumentals get their first album. it's close to a 50/50 split if you get the version with bonus tracks.

I have the first two and the first is definitely better. This has made my mind up to get the third now. Some of the vocals on 'simple things' are fantastic.
