Today's "pop" is what's on Z100 and such, right?
Wait... do people know what that is or is that just where I live?

Yeah, I'd consider music on Z100 pop.

Anyway when I worked at a library, the CD area was split into Pop, Jazz/Blues, Country, Showtunes, Classical, World... and I think that's it. So Britney Spears, Led Zep, ABBA, Cascada, Usher, 50 cent, etc would all be pop. Haha, it's the easiest way for them to classify the music I guess since it's so varied.

Well, music today is separated into their own genres a little differently then they were maybe 10 years ago.
