I think her career was fine until 2011 when Born This Way came out. That album turned a lot of people away from her, despite being successful. It's a shame, too. Because in 2009/2010, she seemed like she was going to last in the music industry. But now, it's becoming more clear that she's the Cyndi Lauper of our generation. People will still remember her in 20 years, but no one will care. She'll be playing clubs and theaters instead of arenas and stadiums. Heck, her Artrave tour already has smaller venues than her last tour.

Her problem is that she now believes her own hype. Back when she started out she came of as basically an eccentric party girl. Then everyone started calling her some kind of avant garde...thing, and she's latched onto that and has run it into the ground. She's not avant garde, she's a pop artist. Someone needs to tell her that.
