Loved Burqa instantaneously and listened to it multiple times. Listened to Applause for half an hour straight. The repetitive formula of Born This Way with these two songs seem to be gone and looks like she's back. The thing I'm liking about these songs is they don't sound entirely formulaic like The Fame and The Fame Monster. Her vocals are rocking too as she sounds more authentic with her songs' messages than in Born This Way (with the exception of the title song and a few of the tracks on that album). Now, I'm actually interested to see her performance at the MTV VMAs. My wishes are seemingly becoming fulfilled as like the more natural look on her album cover and despite not returning to the actual instruments of Stefani Germanotta, her music seems to be a grand dose of real I've needed ever since I heard Electric Chapel and Heavy Metal Lover.

Okay, so I listened to the Applause song a couple of times and it is quite catchy. Do you guys know if she wrote the song?

Ya gotta admit...the girl does have an interesting fashion sense.

This was her ensemble for a recent night on the town with boyfriend Taylor Kinney.

yes, she wrote it herself. Well co-wrote it there is another name also on the track.

Thats cool. I am aware she has written some of her songs and plays the piano. She is not a horrible singer either. She clearly has raw talent. I just wish she didnt feel the need to be so over the top with things that have nothing to do with her "music". It seems she wants people to focus on her as a "personality" and not her music that seems to produce the same result. The song is catchy and nice but it sounds like other songs Ive heard from her.

What's wrong with the wong sounding like some of her other songs? She doesn't need to be taking risks with this album. She did that with the last one and it didn't go over well. She needs surefire hits on this album so sticking to what she knows best.

Its not good enough for me to want to go out of my way to pay 15.99 for the album. To much repetitiveness bores me....There are alot of artists that have their own unique sound but they are still artistic with their music and not repetitive.

The reason why her last album didnt do well is because it came out during a period where the general public was tired of all the Gagas, Rihannas, Beyonces and wanted to hear some authentic music which is why Adele was more successful.

You're probably right that it is best she stick to something that she knows works (if she wants to be on the radio) but for me personally it doesnt do that much for me outside of it being catchy. I respect an artist more who takes risks versus playing it safe.

I feel like you are asking a bit much from a pop album. The only requirement of a pop album is to be catchy anything else is extra.

lol!

Ive heard plenty of POP albums that are very creative and artistic.

Second, regardless whether an album is "pop" or not it has to be more than just ''catchy" to get any money out of me lol

I didnt say the song was horrible. I just am not that impressed with it. It sounds like all her other songs.

I didn't say they couldn't be creative. I'm just saying that's icing on the cake if they are. I don't go into a pop album automatically expecting it to be artistically creative.

money? how many albums do you buy? you know we live in the download generation right?
