As far as that being a 'country' song - this chick on American Idol, Haley Reinhart, did a fairly reasonable cover of said song before it was released - and this chick's a jazz singer.

I feel like Gaga's issue as of late is her straight up trying to force pop hits, when she's actually more talented than that. She knows it makes money, though, so I suppose I can't really fault her that much for being an American.

The more money she makes the better theatrics she can provide on her tours?

If you saw her concert that was on HBO a few months ago, you could see her range.

We have the ability to prepare healthy and tasty meals ourselves, but we would rather shovel horrible, pre-made food into our hole of a mouth because we just don't care anymore. People don't appreciate art itself anymore, just give us a rock that's painted gold and we'll be more than happy.
You act like disposable pop music is just a new thing in this day and age. Really? You do know that the so called art from the past that you appreciate today wasn't even appreciated when it was created.

Just like when famous artists don't sell any of their work when they are alive and years later after their death they get credit and a newfound appreciation from the public.

nah, this kind of pop music has been around for decades. I'm guilty of liking some of it, but I'm more upset at the fact that Gaga can't market that kind of talent. Ska said something about this awhile ago, but limiting yourself and your music in order to make money is wrong. I didn't know she had such a voice, I really didn't. It's a shame, if she did more duets and/or showcase that kind of singing I might just pick up an album.

Yeah I would definitely think about it as well. I'll stick to Zooey for now.

I remember going back and forth with Ska over that same issue as well and while you might believe that I tend to disagree.

I think a big part of could also be that she's genuinely a huge pop fan. If she grew up listening to big stars and always wanted to become one, she's right where she wants to be.

For me, it's people like Arms & Sleepers who make me love music. The intimate interaction you can have with them personally, the personal thank yous they give you when they get your payment, they answer questions, etc. I get a hand sent envelope containing every poster they've ever had when I only paid for one. The price? $2.00! I didn't even pay through their website! I paid it straight to one of the member's Paypal accounts. The one time they didn't have an album I wanted, so they sent me to a German online store. I e-mailed the guy back and forth a couple times because he was always giving me updates and made sure to let me know he was busy and would have my album out as soon as possible. Everything from him was hand written too. I love that intimate interaction. Pop music feels so cold in comparison.

Great point, that's exactly what she must love, because why would you make music you don't like? Even with money. I think it's also the most mainstream way to connect with her fans in order to spread her message and beliefs across. She knows what she is capable of and I'm sure in years to come she will surprise us with it.

So I need to form a plan to temporarily steal The Fame Monster from my sister without her realising it's gone, and putting two and two together finding out that I'm a Gaga fan. I only need it for long enough to get it on my iTunes library, but she's the kind of person that would notice it was gone instantly after walking into a room. Any ideas?
