Lady Gaga's a "Bit of a Feminist." Are You?
Lady Gaga is a terrible terrible rolemodel for feminist values.

All her money came from a man named Rob Fusari who not only was an already somewhat established producer. She had a sexual relationship with this man that ended once she started acquiring real momentum. Before that, she spent years as a floundering artist. Essentially, she ****ed this guy to get money, and then starved herself practically to death, and slapped as much semi-pornographic, and pornographic content on it in order to sell it.

If you ask me, I don't care what anybody says, If she wanted to stay a hero to feminist rights she would have attempted to continue flounder as a more classy lounge player. But, she very obviously caved in, and sold herself pound for pound, inch for inch, to the male dominated music industry for commercial gain.

I mean, honestly, anybody who thinks she got over with raw talent is naive. There's historical evidence to prove otherwise. If anything, Gaga should be the enemy of feminism, and all the hard working women out there who DON'T crack, and end up cosmetically reshaping themselves to be up to the industry's standard of present-ability.

Terence Hill, as recently confirmed during an interview to an Italian TV talk-show, was offered the role but rejected it because he considered it "too violent". Dustin Hoffman and John Travolta declined the role for the same reason. When Al Pacino was considered for the role of John Rambo, he turned it down when his request that Rambo be more of a madman was rejected.

I agree with you but there are loads of artists that screw for tracks it's just a shady part of the business.

Granted Steph went a little further than most people do.

I agree with it to an extent, it's as if she's trying to be a cultural ambassador instead of a musician. However, I actually like the production and melody of Born This Way, and even the title and concept are okay...but she wrote very stupid lyrics regardless. GaGa is lyrically constipated, I have rarely seen good lyrics written by her.

Born This Way is a decent song, but it's got some major flaws, like lack of originality and an overdone message.

The video is all kinds of weird, if you ask me. The weirdness within the video doesn't seem to have a point. Sure, there's this whole story behind it, that she wants to give birth to a race without prejudice, but that's the thing. Humans aren't born racist, or sexist, or homophobic. It's a product of your surroundings, and your mental state. So what? Is she giving birth to humans? Then why is she an alien? That makes zero sense.

Have Gaga videos ever made sense? or music videos in general? I mean, remember music videos are commercials not art. It's just supposed to be a collection of random images in order to create some sort of emotional impulses in order to create an association between the listener, and the sound in order to keep it in memory.

Seeing as it was a particularly weak single it's obvious that Gaga's going to pull out all the stops, and pair it with powerful high budget imagery in order to make up for the loss. It doesn't matter if it means anything, that's for artists, and somebody who is about as artistic as a bag of cheetoes obviously is going to resort to mass ambiguity as not to polarize an audience yet keep things as impulsive as possible to keep the ADD generation in tune.

After all, strong complex imagery to base insultingly simplistic music is what keeps Gaga in business, and the money is rolling. Why change things now?

She's not an alien in the video. She is supposed to be a god. Mother Nature herself.

On one side she is a God that creates "humans"/clones of herself and then she can't exist without evil so the Evil side of her decides to create chaos and all those negative things such as being racist, sexist and homophobia.

that's what I gathered from the video anyways.

Also, if you like fun Illuminati Conspiracy Theories you can read about all the references she has in the video here

If it's just a commercial and not art then I don't think it would create those same emotional impulses that you are referring to.

I also strongly disagree with you on that. Music Videos are art when done well.
