Because Born This Way sounds a lot like Madonna's "Express Yourself."

I love how people I know are hyping the new song as something completely unique and original.

I think Gaga's new song is uplifting and positive but....I'm not sure if it's as groundbreaking as she made out. I'm going to wait to see the video (as they are always brilliant) and when more singles come out. I'm very undecided about this song. Particularly because it's very Madonna.

Either Gaga is the biggest idiot alive for touting her apparently least original song(and I've heard it in a lobby playing on the radio. It did sound like Madonna, but to me ALL of her work sounds like Madonna) as her most original work, or something is really fishy here...

Add that to the gimmick of "throwing away the gimmicks" you have a perfect recipe for New Coke. Bold new flavor, that people are not intended to actually like, and on album 4 we get a "return of the old Gaga".

I know a lot of my posts in this thread have caused trouble... just saying, though.

P.S. Kaka is Spanish for sh*t, I believe.

that is nothing new though, people have said that for a really long time that she pays tribute to Madonna through certain songs.

That's a very small portion of my point, one of which bares little relevance, and I will not argue on. I'm not criticizing her for sounding like Madonna, that's running over old ground. I'm scrutinizing the possibility this is a very brilliant marketing ploy ala Kiss removing their make-up. IE. it's possible she WANTS you to criticize it for being like Madonna so her loyal fanbase may just clamor for the "old Gaga back".

She manufactures an intentional blunder, and reaps the rewards for her followup. It's either that, or she's so self obsessed, that she'll hype her own work to the moon thinking it's the greatest thing since smore pop tarts. I tend to believe she's not an idiot, though, and she wouldn't dig herself a hole that deep. She wouldn't have gotten this far otherwise.

you are giving her waaay too much credit and over thinking the release of this single. I don't think she would want a sophomore slump album.
