in pop music the image always sells first. It's not like most popstars have deep songs most of it's just to dance to to, and have fun. So really all Lady Gaga is doing is taking advantage of that aspect in pop music.

I can't figure out what your point is? You are saying things that don't make justifiable sense.

Well I admit it's not the greatest songs, but it is catchy as hell. Maybe not as great as some of her other songs. Just Dance seems to be basically thrown together, in my opinion. I prefer her harder Poker Face, or the darker Bad Romance. Just Dance is more of a way to loosen up the listener before getting into deeper subjects.

I really wish she would go away. I'm tired of listening to people herald her as some sort of creative genius.

Her image was carefully crafted in a boardroom full of rich white men looking to make a profit. And guess what? It worked.

I think I would've liked her a lot more if she stuck to the normal-girl-playing-piano bit.

I really doubt that's what happened. Is this some kind of anti white patriarch vendetta, or a genuine observation?

What exactly is normal-girl-playing piano? Tori Amos?

It's funny you say that. Lady Gaga had been doing performance art pieces in NY Clubs and bars for years before she got a label to sign her. Back then, she believed it to be very important to mix avant-garde fashion with pop music, and she wanted to make people uncomfortable with her shock pop art. That hasn't really changed. Granted, she's doing it in a much larger scale than she used to.

I don't really think she's a creative genius. A lot of her fashion can be traced back to previous designers and models. "Teeth" blows me away every time I hear it. It has the elements of gospel music in it, and the jazz sound in her singing. I wish she would branch out and do more songs of that nature. I love it.

I really liked her early performances when it was only her and a piano a lot. She tried at first to make it like that, because she started out wanting to be a lounge singer (which explains songs like Speechless and Brown Eyes), but it didn't work out. So she tried the club scene, and she's made two CD's as such.

Ha. No.
A while ago, someone showed me an (obviously old) video of her, looking quite normal, playing the piano. I found it far less annoying than anything else she's done.

Oh, and tbh I really don't have an encyclopedic knowledge of Lady Gaga, so I really can't say if her whole persona came into being because of a bunch of record execs or not, but I wouldn't be too suprised at all if that had to do with it. At the very least, I think the fact that she had a gimmick helped her get signed.

Okay, this explains it. (:
