She sings of her new album, Born this Way, "God makes no mistakes." Oh? God? And no mistakes? Well, I could quibble with her there on both grounds. If a god makes no mistakes, than presumably those people the god created, knowing they would oppose homosexuality, aren't mistakes or mistaken either.
But beyond the logical problems with her claim, I feel that arguing over what a god intends or does not intend is not the best way to try to solve the problem of extending legal protection to people regardless of sexual orientation. For every Lady Gaga who claims a god wants human rights to be extended to gay people, there may be be someone equally convinced of the opposite.
Of course, I support her in her endeavors (except for the meat part).

I'm surprised about the meat too...for some reason I pegged her as a vegan. It's no better nor worse than wearing leather or fur, the ultimate fusion of fashion and death. Now that I think about it, it does suit her.

So I thought I'd search for Gaga's own explanation of the meat dress:

"Well, it is certainly no disrespect to anyone that is vegan or vegetarian. As you know, I am the most judgment-free human being on the earth," Gaga replied. "However, it has many interpretations, but for me this evening ... If we don't stand up for what we believe in and if we don't fight for our rights, pretty soon we're going to have as much rights as the meat on our own bones. And I am not a piece of meat," she added, holding up the magazine cover.
Ellen then presented Gaga with an alternative, pulling out a custom bikini made out of kale and a skirt constructed of some leafy greens, which the singer proudly held up to model over her fleshy fashions.
As Degeneres is both a Vegan and Gaga-fan, I was interested in checking her reaction -So here's the video:

Most judgement free on Earth? That's quite a claim. And also, apparently nobody loves her fans as much as she does. There is no limit to her God like powers of non-judgement and compassion.
