Mariah carey is such a mystery to me, have you guys heard the way she talks? her tone of voice when she talks is kinda deep and raspy yet when she sings she can hit those high notes like a pro.
idk how she does it, to be blessed with that kinda voice is like a gift from god. Im sure she took singing classes and refined her voice so im not saying she didn't work and practice to get that good, but honestly you don't pick your vocal chords you're born with them and she for some reason was blessed with a singer's voice.

In my opinion, Stevie Nicks and Sarah McLachlan are the best female vocalists. Also, Mandy Moore is underrated in the music department. Her "Wild Hope" album really rocked ass and she has some nice lyrics to go along with it.
But for rock female vocalists, definitely Maria Brink and Taylor Momsen are the best we have these days. Courtney Love and Kim Gordon are still goddesses in this cat., however. |

Fiona Apple gets my vote for most enjoyable, ear-wise, but I'd have to say that Stevie Nicks is more widely talented.
