I also am a big fan of Annie Lennox' singing. She sounds powerful, never tentative, and sings perfectly in tune and consistently throughout her range. Her voice sounds luscious to me...so rich and strong. (Also, she's got cool hair! Reminds me of David Bowie. )
My favorites: Eurythmics - "Here Comes the Rain Again" Eurythmics - "Thorn In My Side" Eurythmics - "Sweet Dreams" There are cows in this video. I don't know why.

three words - Olivia Newton John.
I was over at my parents' house this morning so that my child could look through Grandma's costume jewelry with her, and while that glitterfest was going on I riffled through my old childhood records and decided to play Olivia Newton John's 1977 album "Totally Hot" on my dad's old record player (which still works 30 years later). This album was one of the first (and few) records I ever purchased. I was curious to hear the music again. I found that I couldn't recall any of her songs except for "A Little More Love," which was the only one I really like off the album. However, I was reminded how much I like her voice regardless what she is singing. Also, the album cover made me recall how stunningly beautiful and adorable I feel she is! I love that Olivia Newton John's voice is distinctively hers with that cute Australian accent. She sounds so wholesome, no matter what she sings: Olivia Newton John - "A Little More Love" I think she was trying to shed that wholesome look with her updated hairdo and short red dress: Olivia Newton John - "Hopelessly Devoted to You" This song of "Grease" fame made me a devotee of Olivia Newton John: Olivia Newton John and John Travolta - "Summer Nights" Hee hee hee, I just couldn't resist posting this song! Olivia Newton John looks so much like a happy yellow sunbeam that watching her performance and hearing her voice always makes me happy.

Some of mine.
You don't have to understand Gaelic to appreciate the beauty of her voice. Stunning. I am always entranced by her voice and I feel like I have been transported back to people sitting around a fire and living nomadic lifestyles. There has been a multitude of remixes of this song and I heard a mix over 10 years ago that I loved and it has finally shown up I love the fact that she never has to result to vocal histrionics to maintain the songs atmosphere. I adore Tracy Watt's delivery. She hasnt got a dynamic voice at all but she has that melancholic delivery down to a tee. She has much more dynamically in her locker but the lyrics dictate that she almost seems like she is talking to you and not singing. I will point out that I am cheating here and posting some of my fave performances and not necessarily the BEST vocalists out there and I have omitted the likes of Billie Holliday, Kate Bush, Patti Smith etc

Favorite Female Pop Singer Voice?
Which female pop singer has the voice you most like hearing? Try to separate it from lyrics, please. Let's limit this to internationally known female pop singers of the last 30 years.

We did have an exact thread on this topic that hasn't been bumped since last year. I'm just going to merge them.
