Ripple and The Disillusionist the best from the album.
Definitely two great songs. I'm a big fan of "Swan Lake", "Dome" and "Kings" as well.

And I totally agree about the other eras. I like the 90s stuff the best but really I don't think they've ever released a bad album.

I'm glad to hear you liked it! They have tons of other good stuff too if you're ever interested in checking it out.

I agree. I've always thought that photo suited the feel of the album very well.

Definitely. I honestly don't think any other Church album comes close, despite how good their other albums are. Was never huge on Starfish...

Yeah, Starfish is really uneven. But I think Sometime Anywhere is a great album. IMHO it's equal to or nearly equal to the quality of Priest=Aura.

Priest + Aura is one heck of a good album, as is Sometime Anywhere - good, great Mid career, post success albums, when they are starting to not give a crap about image and just go for broke musically...

Chaos is one of my all time favorite songs by the band!

They're much better than their name implies (har har), with a few genuinely good albums hidden up their sleeves:

Of Skins and Heart (1981)
The Blurred Crusade (1982)
Heyday (1986)
Starfish (1988)

Any other fans out there?

NOTE: I wasn't really sure what forum to put this in. They have elements of jangle pop, progressive and neo-psychedelic music, but they've also been tagged as alternative, whatever that means.
I found it interesting you placed this in the Pop board ...glad I peaked in here- The Church are amazing. Steven Killbey is an amazing baritone singer. Thanks for posting the video to Under The Milky Way I loved seeing it again. I remember when I first saw the video in the 80s I finally realized the song's title wasn't 'wish I knew what I was looking for' LOL. I like Starfish the best but they have a huge discography that many are not familiar with. I think Starfish was their first album produced in America.

been getting into this band more and more lately. Kilbey's got a damn good flourish for songwriting. still say that Starfish is their best but considering i'm only halfway through their extensive library i won't hold it there.

and for you kiddos who love the Smiths...they don't hold a candle to this band.

New album, Untitled # 23 released in may... can't wait! I have copy pre - ordered! What I have read about it seems to be indicating an atmospheric, After Everything Now This sorta fweel... which would be great since that's one of my favorite Church albums...but this band is always so full of musical suprises... you can never tell...
