Hilary Duff (lyrics, singer, quote, artists, band)

I went through her discography on Wikipedia, and the only song which credits her and her alone as the songwriter is "Inner Strength", a 1:34 track from her first album. So she is not truly an artist, and therefore has no reason to be discussed on these forums.

Give it up already. She may/may-not be an artist. Who really gives a ****. No one on this entire forum respects what she does, and there is no real musical talent there. She's a brand, that is all. And if you cant see that, then well you're musical opinion really means next to nothing. Sorry to come off as mean but that is the simple truth.

I suppose you have a point however I don't think you can't say it's god awful either. Depends on the music you like too so maybe you like, maybe you don't but it's good to some people.

You just don't get it. Even if she wrote the song's lyrics, SHE DIDN'T, AND CAN'T, PLAY ANY INSTRUMENTS. One of the producers must have wrote the accompanying instruments' parts and a studio band played them for her. Since that's true, the only thing she has going for her is a mediocre (and that's being nice) voice. Since the accompanying music being written by other people for her is crap anyway, I don't see why this is an issue. Go listen to Paramore in your bedroom and stop calling Hilary Duff an artist.

Look, if you want to know why everyone here is arguing your opinion and not enjoying the music of Hilary Duff, I'd say because from what I've learnt MB is a place for discussing artists and the music that they make and the merits of this music. Since Hilary does not make her own music (apart from one dodgy song) or write her own songs there is not really much to discuss apart from her image and the fact that she's started to get naked. And to me that's not really music-related.
