Default Oingo Boingo

A band I knew I liked but sort of "rediscovered" recently and have been listening to pretty much non-stop for the past 2 days. Very energetic and catchy.

Anyone else like them?

Great band! Wish they'd re-release their catalog, lots of great nuggets on there.

I only like a couple of their songs, but those songs are really good!

That was Danny Elfman's band, right?

Ah, Oingo Boingo. Another band I had the privilege of seeing three or four times, including the three hour long "Farewell Tour" show in Salt Lake, a week before they disbanded. My hats off to Danny for sticking by his guns, and really disbanding the group. I grow tired of bands that do a "farewell tour", and then are back at it a couple years later. KISS, are you listening to me??

Anyhow, a wonderful band, especially during the Halloween season. And for those of you who are fortunate enough to own (or hunt down) the DVD or VHS of the final show (in 1995), watch the supplemental footage and see the performance of "The Mystic Knights of the Oingo Boingo", which was the initial incarnation of the band... long before commercial records. The performance was on THE GONG SHOW. Yeah, THE Gong Show. Crazy stuff...

I actually really liked Danny Elfman's title song from the new movie WANTED. It's like new Oingo Boingo. Elfman should form a new band.

Ya know that name, Oingo Boingo, really rings a bel in my mind - what were some of their more major hits, so I can place a song to that name....
