"I Kissed A Girl" got me started noticing Katy Perry. Kind of entrancing roller rink song. She's the girl next door alternative for people not enamored of Lady Gaga.

No. Listen to some of her songs that AREN'T on the radio, that aren't all auto-tuned and dressed up with catchy beats. Pearl, for example. Or an acoustic version of The One That Got Away.
She actually has a good range and she has a deep, breathy sound that I love.
A lot of her songs have good messages, too.
