Yeah she does write her own songs with some assistance of course but she does contribute to them.

I think there's a certain style to her lyrics that seems pretty well established in her songs, which makes it seem in house to me.

Yes, she has a certain style/formula to her songs but I'm pretty sure she knows that and writes it that way on purpose.

I love Hot n´ Cold and I Kissed a Girl. Not any other songs by Katy Perry that I have heard. Have not heard many.

I think she is just the perfect face, choosen by a great commerce machine. It's not a perfect artist. Live, she isn't always performing well...

She's a reasonable singer but I don't really think much of her music. It may be because the target audience is preteen. I get the feeling she's provided songs already written by professional song writers/producers.
