I'd genuinely say her music has went downhill, I still love her though, she needs to aim for older teens again.

Not heard it but im not extremely surprised. Her niche market has changed I think. I think she aims for the younger generation these days... *tear*

I was knocked out by Hot n Cold, the first time I heard it on the radio, and I still think it's a pretty great song today. Beautiful production!
Trouble is, I heard it sung live, and realized how much studio wizardry went into making it the hit that it was. Katy just really can't sing that well in real life, which is a shame because she's smart, she's savvy, and she's personable. In lots of ways, I really do admire her. So she releases the new single, and once again, the special effects overwhelm her. It's a really elaborately made video, but where's Katy in all of it? Under a wig, looking pretty average... and the song is just kind of meh. So I guess I'll finish this post up by saying I really hope she makes it someday. After she's worked more on her voice, and gotten back on track with top notch material. It would be a great day for pop, if that ever happened. She can carry the image. Now all she needs to do is carry a tune. |
