80s pop owns. Duran Duran, Prince, Soft Cell, Annie Lennox, Debbie Herry, Depeche Mode, and the most important poprock acts of the past two decades: the cure and the smiths.

I agree with that. It was the Bungles who sang Video killed the radio star. It was the first video ever shown on mtv, but meh, everyone knows that already, hahaha. :p: And yeah, the petshop boys kicked a lotta ass. :)

The british new wave was really good and I loved the groups pet shop boys idol cure inxs u2 morissey omd lena lovitch etc. etc. etc. Things change but you can always go back and listen to there music. It was good music. Still is I was graduating back in 79' when mtv " was " good and had " videos " on.

80's pop is eh ok, but modern day pop is manufactured rubbish. at least in the 80's pop artists had guitars, etc

i agree the 80's may have been bad fashion and bad make up...alot of it was all about the money, image and the fame but which decade was'nt!

clairemartyne...big tip.

It's bad form to bump threads that are about 2 year old.

The previous poster has either reached pubity or died of old age.

We all like something from the 80's, whether we want to admit it or we do not. ~<(".<)

With the exception of TEARS FOR FEARS , none of them are pop bands by any stretch of the imagination.
